For those who are just beginning to search for their ancestors, this will
prove helpful. Dr. George Black an official of the New York Public Library spent
48 years researching and writing his book "The Surnames of Scotland". Dr. Black
passed away during the 2nd WW and the library published his book in his honor
after the war. This book can be found in main libraries.
The pages listed are of Robert Croc my ancestor of whom I had absolutely no
knowledge of until I read this book. It will give you a great insight on your
